WE FOUND EMILY AND NICK!

Em1 cropIMG_1892

Please know how thankful we are to all of our family and friends for the love and support you have poured out.  Private yachts taking time, effort, and expense to search, islands governments, our own US Coast Guard, and our friends and family.  Everyone did what they could, and for this will be eternally grateful.

I still have not spoken with Emily, but was just alerted by the authorities that they entered the Dominican Republic Port less than an hour ago.  Apparently the seas and rough weather had caught up with them and sent them off course, and eventually ran out of fuel off the coast of Haiti, which is where they have been for the past three days.  This, as you can imagine, is piecing preliminary bits of information together, and is likely to change as we get more information of their epic tale.

Thank you my friends.  So Many Tears.  So Much Love.

  1. I am so happy you have gotten information that they are safe. Have been and will continue to pray for you and yours.

  2. We are relieved and very happy. My son Jeff got to know Nick when they lived in the same marina in Charleston. God is good.

  3. Praise God! That is amazing news and I don’t even know either of you, but my heart is happy to hear this! I’ve been very stressed due to have a kitty sick with cancer who is in his last days, and having read your post last night put things somewhat in perspective…..although I’m still so sad, it didn’t compare to what you were going through. Our Lord is amazing!

  4. Nothing make you so vulnerable as having a child in perceived danger………… and nothing will make you thank God more than their safe recovery! You are all in my prayers.

  5. Mr. Klein,
Thank God, Emily and Nick were found safe and will soon return home safe. I must share this with you because you see this also has an impact on me and has touched me in so many ways. You and I have only met a few times and when I heard this news my heart hit the floor and all I could do was ask God to step in and protect, guide, and lead her back home. As a teacher of two of your children, I knew I had to be a shield and protector today for your son. High school is difficult enough and having to go through this situation is not easy by any means. I found myself in tears and had to go in my back room because my heart ached for your family and everyday is a constant reminder for me. You see, I had the distinct pleasure of teaching and building a close bound with your eldest son through mutual friends, school, and Extreme. Your boys have the same 9th grade English teacher and they have become apart of my family! When he shared the good news with me during class today, I could see the joy on his face and the heaviness lifted from the both of us! He is a strong young man and I am grateful to have kind, intelligent, and such loving students such as your children in my life. Well done! Many prayers and blessings to all of you!

    Sincerely,
    K. Watson

    • You’ve been a blessing to me and mine in ways and a depth others couldn’t grasp. My mother, two sisters and wife have all been teachers. But it’s so much more than that. It’s clearly a calling, and you impact our children, our families, and our culture with such a beautiful love. The rewards are impossible to measure, for each of us. Thank you Kim Watson.

  6. i sat and sent out all the prayers and thoughts I could for this outcome as I am sure many many others who love your posts did !!!!’ My heart is full of joy for you and your family .

  7. You said they would turn up in a matter of time, so happy for all involved! Salt Life is the Life!

  8. I missed this-being on a road trip with my son. It must have been pure hell going through that experience! I am just so grateful that they have been found. Blessings, brother!
